Group Ticketing Services from Pakistan

Moving twenty workers to Riyadh is not twenty individual bookings. Seats have to be held on one flight, names submitted by a deadline, and tickets issued at the right moment in the process, which is later than most people assume.

We coordinate group departures for the workers we deploy under Overseas Employment Promoter licence OP&HRD/4162/SKT. Booking is arranged through our travel partners, and the schedule is confirmed to the employer before dispatch.

What group ticketing actually involves

Airlines treat a group booking as a single commercial arrangement, not a stack of separate reservations. That brings advantages and constraints in equal measure.

Individual booking Group booking
Fare
Published fare on the day
Negotiated group fare, usually lower
Names required
At booking
Can be deferred to a name deadline
Payment
Immediately
Deposit, then balance by a set date
Seats
Whatever is available
Seats held together on one flight
Changes
Per ticket
Name changes charged, some not permitted at all
Risk
None beyond one fare
Unpaid blocks are released back to the airline

The deferred name deadline is the useful part. You can hold seats before every candidate’s file is finished, which matters when medicals and visa endorsement are still moving.

When a booking qualifies as a group fare

Airlines set their own thresholds, and they vary by carrier and route. As a general rule you need roughly ten or more passengers travelling together on the same flight and route.

Below that, individual tickets are usually cheaper than a formal group block. We will tell you which applies to your batch rather than pushing a group booking that costs you more.

Who pays for the ticket

This is decided long before anyone books anything. It is decided by the passage clause in your demand letter.

Every demand letter carries a line for passage, alongside food, accommodation, medical treatment, gratuity, leave and repatriation. What that clause says determines whether the employer covers the outbound ticket, whether a return ticket is included, and on what cycle.

Vague wording here causes disputes at the worst possible moment. “Passage as per company policy” means nothing to a worker who has never seen the policy. Specify the outbound ticket, the leave cycle if any, and the repatriation ticket at the end of contract.

We flag weak passage wording before you attest the demand letter, because fixing it afterwards means repeating the attestation.

Why tickets are issued after clearance, not before

This is the single most expensive mistake in worker ticketing, and it happens constantly.

A worker cannot legally leave Pakistan for employment without Protector of Emigrants clearance. The stamp is checked at the airport. If a ticket is issued for a worker who has not cleared, or who fails at medical or visa stage, that money is at risk and the seat is wasted.

The correct order is:

  1. Medical cleared at an embassy-approved hospital
  2. Visa endorsed and stamped
  3. Documents submitted for Protector of Emigrants clearance
  4. Protector clearance received
  5. Ticket issued
  6. Flight confirmed to the employer

Seats can be held earlier. Tickets should not be issued earlier. An agency that tickets a batch before clearance is gambling with someone’s money, and usually not its own.

Baggage allowance

Workers travel with more than a suitcase. Tools, work boots, bedding and personal effects add up, and Gulf routes differ sharply on what is included.

Two things worth settling before booking:

Check the allowance on the specific route and carrier, not the airline’s general policy. Economy allowances on Pakistan to Gulf routes vary more than people expect.
Brief the workers on the actual limit. Excess baggage charges at the counter, paid in cash by a man who has just spent everything on his file, is a bad way to start a contract. This is covered in the pre-departure briefing.

If your workers need to carry trade tools, say so at booking. It sometimes changes which carrier makes sense.

Departure airports

Candidates come from across Pakistan, and the departure airport affects both cost and logistics. Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot and Peshawar all carry Gulf routes, and fares differ between them on the same day.

For a mixed batch we look at where the workers actually live before fixing a departure point. Flying everyone from one city because it is convenient for the agency can mean a full day of internal travel for half the group, arriving tired for a long flight.

How our group ticketing services from Pakistan work

  • Provisional block. Seats held on the target date once the batch is confirmed at selection.
  • Name deadline tracked. Names submitted against the airline’s cut-off, using passport spellings exactly.
  • Files monitored. Medicals, visa endorsement and Protector clearance tracked against the departure date, with the airline advised if the batch needs to move.
  • Tickets issued. After clearance, never before.
  • Pre-departure briefing. Contract terms, destination rules, baggage limits and airport procedure, explained in Urdu or Punjabi.
  • Schedule confirmed to the employer. Flight number, arrival time and passenger manifest, so your site knows who is landing and when.

Mistakes that cost money

  • Name spelling mismatches. The ticket must match the passport exactly. A middle name dropped at booking becomes a denied boarding.
  • Missing the name deadline. The airline releases the block and the fare is gone.
  • Ticketing before clearance. Covered above, and worth repeating.
  • Booking around an optimistic medical date. Medicals produce unfit cases. Build the buffer in.
  • Ignoring passport validity. Most destinations require six months’ validity beyond travel. Check at selection, not at the airport.

Whatever the passage clause in the demand letter says. That clause should be specific about outbound, leave and repatriation tickets.

Yes. Seats can be blocked early, but tickets should only be issued after Protector of Emigrants clearance.

It depends on the carrier and route. Confirm the specific allowance at booking, and brief workers on the limit before departure.
